Why does my iphone 8 have writing on the back?

Yes, model was never given, just iPhone. On iPhone 7 and earlier models you also have in small print "Designed by Apple in California...." and even earlier you have FCC certification, ... on it.

Now on iPhone 8/8 Plus just iPhone and nothing more.

I have a iphone 8Plus which I bought from an Applestore in the UK. It says IPhone and underneath it has two lines of writing. The first says 'Designed by Apple in California' and under this it says 'Assembled in China'.

Under all of this are the symbols for CE and and do not throw in the bin.

Must say I am nto sure if it matters as I have it in a case and never see the back.

Yes apple its not writing or specifying the iphone model on its back since the begining always writing just the word iphone on all the models

I bought an iPhone 8+ from an apple store in India and my iPhone too has writings on the back apart from “Iphone” so yes it is definitely because of the regulations of a certain country

I just bought my iphone 8 plus and it too has, ‘Designed by Apple in California Assembled in China’ on the back. Im from the UK.

Hey my purchased iPhone 8 is from India and it has the text imprinted under iPhone 8. I'm sure it is the regulations. Just the iPhone on the back looks so much cooler.

It must be the U.K. regulations then.

As mentioned above, my iPhone 8 Plus has only iPhone printed and nothing else which is cool since everything is in the documentation and on the box that comes with the iPhone.

Not sure about U.K regulations.

Mine is made for Australia.
