Honestly iPads aren’t modular like laptops so there’s not a lot a user can do. Your best bet may be to see if you can get an out of warranty replacement which will cost you about 60% of the new price (just a guestimate, you’d need to see what they really charge), or if you have apple care plus, cash in one of your accidental damage replacements, which also has a fee but a much smaller one.
Beyond that I’m afraid if you start messing with it you may end up making matters worse.
