MS Office Icons Bug?

Updated to High Sierra last night from a clean install off a bootable USB. Install was flawless, iCloud pulled all my stuff back down just fine. Apps reinstalled without issue, but there is an odd issue with preview icons. Those associated with Word files are either blank, or the text is pushed to the very bottom. Oddly, though, this isn't consistent and some render just fine. Other files types render just fine. The attached image shows what I'm talking about. I've tried turn off icon preview and turning it back on. Restarted the computer. Re-downloaded the files from iCloud. When that didn't work I restored the files from a Time Machine backup. I know they weren't like this before the update. Any suggestions?

First of all, you don't tell us what version of Office you are using. See this Microsoft bulletin about High Sierra compatibility. All bets are off for Office 2011, and you will need Office 2016 v15.35 or later for High Sierra compatibility.

I don't have Word installed, and all of my .doc/x icons look just like they did with Sierra — correct.

I don't know if you're still having this icon issue, but I seem to have stumbled onto its solution this morning. I was working on an office file and turned on Track Changes, then added a New Comment. When I saved the file, I noticed the icon on the desktop was no longer blank; it displayed correctly. Much to my surprise, all the others suddenly did too. I won't pretend to know what got reset when I did that, but perhaps it will work for you as well?
