Bootable Installer for macOS
I have been attempting to refresh new OS bootable installers for family machines. I had problems previously with earlier OS but can't recall how these were resolved. I've been following the Apple Support instructions as per the link below:
Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support
However, I'm receiving an "(error code 110) failed to mount BaseSystem" error in making the disk bootable in terminal which renders my installer disk as unrecognised at start up. macOS recognises the device in general operation and there are the expected High Sierra installer contents.
Full script from terminal is as follows:
Iains-MacBook-Pro:~ iainab$ sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MACOSX
Password:
Ready to start.
To continue we need to erase the volume at /Volumes/MACOSX.
If you wish to continue type (Y) then press return: y
Erasing Disk: 0%... 10%... 20%... 30%...100%...
Copying installer files to disk...
Copy complete.
Making disk bootable...
Couldn't mount dmg /Volumes/Install macOS High Sierra/Install macOS High Sierra.app/Contents/SharedSupport/BaseSystem.dmg (error code 110)Mount of BaseSystem failed.
Done.
Any thoughts and suggestions as to resolution welcome.
From what I have read on this type of issue it's not restricted to High Sierra and as I say I had similar previously.
