Address to which iMessage/Message was sent?

Hello,

I have iMessage/Messages/FaceTime configured to receive at multiple addresses.

Is there a way to view which address a certain message thread is on?

I use both my phone number and Apple ID to send/receive, but I haven't figured out how to tell the address a message was sent to.

Thanks!

Hello Barbatto,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you would like to see which address a message was sent to. The following steps will show you how to tell which number the message was sent to most recently:

1. Open the message thread.
2. Tap the information icon which is the letter "i" inside a circle that is to the right of the person's name.
3. Tap the > on the far right of the person's name.
4. The word RECENT will appear next to the number or email address that was used.

Best Regards.

Hi Brenden,

  • When I initiated a message, can I see which of my addresses (phone, email, etc.) the message was sent from?
  • When I receive a message, can I see which of my addresses the message is sent to?

I have iMessage and Messages.app (desktop) configured to initiate new conversations from my Apple ID rather than my phone number. At random times, I'll check the setting and it reverts to my phone number.

I'm interested in seeing the address to which I'm receiving messages and the address from which I'm sending messages.

Thank you!
