Since upgrading my Gen 2 Apple watch to watch OS 4 whenever I receive a notification the icon from the app does not load. It displays the generic white icon. I have reset the watch but still do not receive filled in app icons when viewing notifications.

If updating to the latest version of the third-party app does not resolve the issue, then I suggest that you contact the app developer to advise them of the issue.

Apple advises that the issue of app icons not appearing in notifications on Apple Watch is addressed under iOS 11.1, released today.
watchOS 4.1 has also been released.

I have both of these Updates on my watch and phone ... still having the issue.
