Time stamp in photo filename is off

iOS 11, (older versions do the same thing), when I take a photo or video, the filename consists of the following:

20170923_220934000_iOS. I like the date stamp, but the time frame is always about 6 hours off. How can I change it to my time zone?

Thank you,

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11

What tool are you using to view this filename on your phone? On my phone, filenames look like IMG_1234 according to Metapho.

If you are viewing the filename after the files are transferred to a computer, what tool are you using to do the transfer? You may need to look into the settings of that tool. When I transfer photos from my iPhone to one of my Macs, using either iCloud Photo Library or Image Capture, they still look like IMG_1234.

Yes, I see that One Drive does that for my photos as well, if I allow them to be uploaded automatically or if I add them manually from my phone. (If I manually upload a photo from my Mac, the file name is preserved.)

There is some discussion about timezone problems in the OneDrive section of Microsoft's user forums. Mentioned in passing there is that the file name is based on UTC/GMT time, not your local time zone.

Hi,

I have OneDrive upload all of my photos; I then view the photos. Here's an example:

User uploaded file

You can see that the file name has the date taken _ and then the time stamp. It's off and I think that it's a timezone problem. I'm wondering now if it's OneDrive appending the name. In the date taken field of the properties, that time is correct. This happens with the latest iOS as well.
