If I clear my “play history” in the tv app am I deleting purchases? I don’t rent anything or is this just another browser history?

Will it delete purchases?

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you want to know if clearing play history deletes your purchases. I would recommend you read this article, purchase history is different than play history.

On an Apple TV

When you listen to music on Apple TV, you don't download it to the device. Find past purchases to play using these steps:

From the Home screen, choose Music or My Music.

Find the song, album, or music video that you want to listen to or watch.

Select Play.

Redownload music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books from the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store

I was referring to when playing movies and tv shows the watched list shows up in the next and goes on and on. I wanted to clear the cache which is referred to as "clear play history" I just wanted to make sure I was only deleting the cache and not the purchase.
