where is the outbox for my email. i have the iphone 8

If I understand your post correctly, you'd like to be able to view the outbox in the Mail app on your iPhone to make sure mail sent. I can certainly understand wanting to check that your mail has been sent. I'm happy to help.
In the Mail app, navigate to the screen that says Mailboxes at the top. If you see Inbox at the top instead, tap the back button. From the Mailboxes screen scroll down. Each account and its mailboxes will be listed. You should see an outbox here as well.
If you don't, please let us know if you are able to see an outbox with sent mail when you visit the webmail page of the mail account you're sending from.

The only time you will see an Outbox is if your mail fails to send. It will get placed into the Outbox until it sends. As the others have said, if you wish to see if they actually got sent, they would appear in the Sent Folder.

You're in the Edit Screen. Click Done at the top then below VIP you should see ICLOUD listed. when you select that you should see Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Junk, etc. There isn't an Outbox but you can look in Sent to make sure an email was sent. If you are using something else other than iCloud to send mail, those accounts may have an Outbox.

Tap on "Done" on the top right corner of that screen you show, and then scroll down to the account sections. Each account section should have a "Sent" folder. All successfully sent email for each account will be there. If an account is in the process of sending something, then there will also be an Outbox. The Sent folder may not be visible if nothing has yet been sent.
