How long does a MacBook Air take to recharge from a dead battery?

My MacBook Air was dead when I got home today, I've had the lid closed all day but it was unplugged. I'm not sure when it died but I used it briefly probably 12 to 24 hours beforehand.

I've had it charging for 10 or 20 minutes now, I've reset the SMC also, but it still won't power on.

I was just curious if a MacBook Air should take this long to charge and power on from a dead battery? Or could my issue be something else? How long should I give my computer to charge before taking in to the Apple Store?

Hi,

Does the amber charge light come on?

Do you have a different power adapter you can try?

Unplug the power adapter, plug it back in and see if anything changes.

It shouldn't take longer than five minutes or so, but I'd give it an hour or two before taking it to the Apple Store.
