Problem Installing App Updates

Several times recently, I've gotten this message when trying to install app updates: "Download an older version of this app? The current version requires iOS 10.3.3 or later, but you can download the last compatible version." Problem is, I have iOS 10.3.3 installed.

I have an iPhone 5, by the way.

iPhone 5, iOS 10.3.3

This means the most-recent version of that app requires a newer version of iOS, which your phone can’t install, but the developer still offers a compatible, older version.

If if you want the app, download the older version that’s offered to you. Most developers don’t bother offering older versions.

I understand that I have the highest version available of the app. What I don't understand is this part of the message: "The current version requires iOS 10.3.3 or later..." That's the version of iOS that I have installed. Therefore, the message doesn't make sense.

It also doesn't make sense that after I've gone ahead and downloaded the older app version (compatible with 10.3.3), every single time I get updates to other apps, I get the same message and have to re-download that same older version of Google Drive (in my case). Will the store ever remember I've got the version I need and haven't updated the iOS?

I too have the same problem with Google Drive. The actual problem is with Google rather than Apple. Google screwed up the update basically. It has been reported to them (Google) several times over the last week or so, but so far nothing appears to have been done to rectify it.
