I can’t delete my apps from the home screen

I have an iPad Pro and after I updated to iOS 11 I have not been able to delete my apps from the home screen because, when I hold one of them, the little “x” on top of it doesn’t appear and I can just move it but without deleting it. With the release of iOS 11.0.1 the problem hasn’t been solved. I can still delete the apps from “settings” but I don’t know how to delete safari bookmarks if the traditional way doesn’t work.

I’ve tried restarting my iPad but it didn’t work.

Is there anyone else with the same problem? Does someone have a solution?

Hi cecinestpasunusername. First, you have to tap/hold an app quite a bit longer to get them shaking, with the ✖ attached. Are you able to make the apps shake?

Do you have any Restrictions that would affect this?

I see that after updating to iOS 11 you can't delete apps from the Home screen. It's important to make sure that you can delete apps from your Home screen if you want, so I'll be happy to help assist you with this.

Since this just happened after updating to iOS 11, I suggest reinstalling iOS.

First, use this article to make sure that you have a backup of your iPhone: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Then, use this article to reinstall iOS: If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Note: This article is intended to be for a different issue but following steps 1-5 will help you reinstall iOS without erasing data.

I just tested this with a Safari bookmark icon, and it still works, as before.
