an error occurred while updating firmware (High Sierra Installation fails and wont boot)

Hi, I was updating a MacBook Air (2012 or so) (with SSD) And the installation failed. It boots back into the installer and fails again. It tried to boot it into safe mode 20 minutes ago. I let the shift key go after a while. I have the process bar at the moment. Any ideas how I get out of this one?

Thanks in advance.
