Why can I send imessages with the “echo” feature but cannot receive them? (sent with echo) is under the message?

Are you still using some iOS version prior to iOS 11.0.1? If so, update now.
Had to turn off iMessage and turn it back on. Now it works!
I checked and it is turned off. So I turned it on and same result. I just did the update last night. Thank you for the suggestions!
