How do you remove a download from Files app using a third-party app like Dropbox?
I have downloaded a file to the Files App from Dropbox, but I cannot remove the download within the Files app.
iPad Pro 9.7-inch WiFi, Cellular, iOS 11

Hi Storyboy. For cloud services other than iCloud Drive, the Files app actually uses the app provided by the cloud service. If you cannot remove the file from inside Files, try doing in the provider's app.

They're probably stored in their respective apps. The Files app seems to be mainly a traffic director, without much storage of its own. It's become confusing, since Pages and Numbers now use a file browser which looks like the Files app. So, the private storage they manage, which appears as folders in Files, is sort of blended into Files. Hope you can figure this out.
Top on Select, choose a document, top on Delete.
Thanks, Diana, but I seem to have jumped into the middle of this thread, so things have become muddled.
Unlike the original poster, I'm not even using Dropbox at the moment, so I'm just hoping tofind a Remove from Device option for files downloaded from iCloud Drive, within the Files app.
BTW: What exactly is it that is downloaded when one taps the cloud icon in Files? I've downloaded a number of Numbers and Pages docs and a bunch of .pdf files, but iPhone Storage shows a total of 20 KB under Files-->Documents & Data. Are these items stored elsewhere?
Help me out of this rabbit hole, if you can.
Thank you!
I saw where to delete it, but how do you remove the download? I do not want to delete the file from all locations.
This doesn't seem to be the case on my iPhone 6. Do you know how I can find a Remove from Device option on my phone?
Thanks.
in the right side of the file I just downloaded there is a button with a wide v depicted
if I click on that I get a context menu on this context menu there is a menu item [Remove from Device]
And if the cloud provider's app doesn't support removing this"preview", then you cannot do it. This appears to be the case for Box, which I use.
