How do you remove a download from Files app using a third-party app like Dropbox?

I have downloaded a file to the Files App from Dropbox, but I cannot remove the download within the Files app.

Hi Storyboy. For cloud services other than iCloud Drive, the Files app actually uses the app provided by the cloud service. If you cannot remove the file from inside Files, try doing in the provider's app.

They're probably stored in their respective apps. The Files app seems to be mainly a traffic director, without much storage of its own. It's become confusing, since Pages and Numbers now use a file browser which looks like the Files app. So, the private storage they manage, which appears as folders in Files, is sort of blended into Files. Hope you can figure this out.

Thanks, Diana, but I seem to have jumped into the middle of this thread, so things have become muddled.

Unlike the original poster, I'm not even using Dropbox at the moment, so I'm just hoping tofind a Remove from Device option for files downloaded from iCloud Drive, within the Files app.

BTW: What exactly is it that is downloaded when one taps the cloud icon in Files? I've downloaded a number of Numbers and Pages docs and a bunch of .pdf files, but iPhone Storage shows a total of 20 KB under Files-->Documents & Data. Are these items stored elsewhere?

Help me out of this rabbit hole, if you can.
