How to use an iPod Nano 4th with no screen Can iTunes change the settings?

Guess What: I am using an iPod nano blindly!

The screen has been malfunctioning this year. The screen has finally stopped functioning entirely. The Click Wheel buttons are still functioning. But they might cease to function eventually also. It can still connect to iTunes and sync to iTunes. It can still recharge and it can still play music.

I have foolishly restored the iPod, based on bad advice that I read could be the issue. Now to find my settings I had before.

I want iPod to play continuously. And I want "Shake" turned OFF.

I have a second iPod 4th generation that is not malfunctioning. I counted the little noises it makes before pressing the center circle button with both iPods. When finished, I pressed "MENU" to go back and attempted to change the next setting.

I might be successful. I tried to gently drop the iPod do see if "Shake" would function, and it did not. Either the Shake is malfunctioning, or I was successful turning off shake.

I have restarted the malfunctioning iPod with the center circle button and MENU button at the same time. Doing so changed from a white screen to a mostly white screen with Apple logo. The Apple Logo does not go away. scrolling the click wheel and pressing the center circle button plays the songs and then using the click wheel again changes the volume.

It would be very nice if iPod settings could be changed with iTunes.

Eventually I will send this iPod away for repair or to somebody who customize iPods and wants to sell it. Eventually I will replace with another iPod ... but it must be at least 16GB.

iPod nano, Other OS
