Any software for customising icons

So I use to use Candybar and then LiteIcon to change my icons and folders. I know in Sierra you have to use utility to disable and enable security so you can do that but currently LiteIcon doesn't work in High Sierra.

Anyone know of any apps that work in High Sierra.

Also, the only reason I upgraded was because my Mac had become very buggy so I wanted to do a clean install. Is there anywhere I can download an installer copy of Sierra [no longer appearing in the Apps program in the purchased section] as I might just do a clean install of Sierra.

Thanks.

So I use Time Machine but would I be able to do a downgrade back to Sierra or would it be my drive as it was before I upgraded to High Sierra?

A complete Time Machine restoration ("Restore everything") restores the system to the exact same state as of that selected backup, as if nothing had changed since that time:

How to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

"To completely restore your Mac, use the "Restore from Time Machine Backup" utility in macOS Recovery."

If you want to completely erase the Mac and install High Sierra, you would be following the instructions under "Erase your startup disk, if necessary" in this document:

How to install macOS - Apple Support

Following that, you can use Setup Assistant to migrate information from the Time Machine backup. Setup Assistant starts automatically after installing macOS:

"If you erased your disk before installing, or you installed on an external drive or other new disk, your Mac restarts to a setup assistant."

You can't wait? According to freemacsoft they are releasing a High Sierra compatibe version shorty.

Fair enough.

So I use Time Machine but would I be able to do a downgrade back to Sierra or would it be my drive as it was before I upgraded to High Sierra? In other words, with all my preferences and apps installed.

The reason I upgraded was because I wanted to do a completely fresh install. I wiped the drive and installed High Sierra. I then added my apps. I like to do that as it cleans things up and I find it runs quicker and gets rid od files where I've installed software and then decided I don't need them late on.

I do regular backups with SuperDuper but over two drives. So if I do a third update I wipe backup 1 so I don't have a backup of just Sierra without any apps.

No disrespect John but that's not the question I asked. I've never had a problem before.

I completely understand the desire for customization, but nobody has a problem with third party hacks... until they do. If you want to customize macOS with UI modifications, then do so with the knowledge that it can cause unexpected effects. They usually become evident upon installing a macOS update or upgrade, sometimes long after forgetting they installed those things, or neglected to keep them updated. So, don't do those things without a backup plan, which brings us to...

I find it ludicrous that Sierra is unavailable when High Sierra has only just come out. What if people need to go back to Sierra?

They restore from a Time Machine backup created prior to upgrading... exactly as Apple recommends in their upgrade instructions: Upgrade to macOS High Sierra - Official Apple Support.
