Windows 10 Bootcamp on 2012 MacBook Pro

I have just spent the past 5 hours trying to get a windows 10 partition working on my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. The official bootcamp help page says that my modal should work with windows 10 so that isn't the issue. I follow the steps: Download the ISO file from Microsoft, plug in a 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive in my computer. I follow these steps until it tells me I do not have enough space on my disk. My hard drive has about 410 GB left and my 16GB USB 2.0 is empty. Can anybody please help me as I am really determined to get windows 10.

Also, I think it has something to do with the fact that the ISO file I am downloading is 4.38GB in size. I have heard the maximum is 4GB but cannot find how to decrease the size.

Thanks

If you are asking about the size of the designated Windows partition, 100GB should be fine. Smaller partitions can cause issues later as the Windows usage increases.

You mention 410GB free. On larger SSDs, I use 50% of the SSD as the size of Windows partition. If I need more space beyond this size, I use an external disk.

On a 2012 Mac, Audio will work correctly, only if you use the MBR (or legacy BIOS) method. If you choose EFI Boot from the USB Installer, then the Audio devices are not correctly exposed.

This is from a 13-in 2012 MBP with W10 Anniversary Update.

Are you using Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) to get the Anniversary Update? Creators Update does not work on the Mac correctly if used to install a clean copy of Windows.

The 4GB limit is for individual files. You may also have a corrupted ISO during download. Can you post the filename of the ISO and it's MD5sum?

The file name is Win10_1607_English_x64.iso. The file size is 4.38 GB and the MD5sum which I received through terminal gave me:

88b98698600511dcd69596df92b242e5

This is also most definitely the Anniversary update. I am downloading the ISO file straight from the windows 10 ISO file website. Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)

Thanks

My BIOS mode is UEFI. Also, just a question but you may not now much about hardware, do you know what DirectX the intel HD graphics 4000 video card supports. Online it says 11 however when I run dxdiag, it says 12.

Also my BIOS version/Date is Apple Inc. MBP91.88Z.00D3.B22.1706182357, 6/18/2017
