I am not getting any sound or other notifications that an email has come in on my new iphone 8 plus. When I open email, the email comes in, but no prior notifications that it is there. Using ios 11.01. Called apple help line and they tried everything and also could not get it working and said there was a known problem with . any ideas?

Go to settings down to sounds change Email tone
Make sure volume buttons on side of iPhone are turned up & mute switch is on.
In the home screen swipe up control panel check half moon is off & check the volume slider.
Go to i books download ios 11 user guide & iPhone 8 user guide both are free.

I think I figured it out ... waiting on next email. Under sounds and haptics I had new email “none”
