trying to boot my MacBook Pro 15inch 2012 non-Retina 2.7Ghz i7 Quad-Core A1286 to AHT APPLE HARDWARE TEST and i cant enter..just came out this message error DEC400..what does it means? is there any other way for me to do AHT??

well my problem solved after i downgraded back to Sierra and bought 2TB Seagate Barracuda replace that Firecuda...apparently there's a few issues on that Firecuda hardware

yup..no problem...few issues that happened to my macbook since updated to Mac OS High Sierra..i just reinstalled the Mac Os bck frm Recovery Mode..and it works..ahahahaha
I have just about the same equipment (less the 'Firecuda'), and recovery mode reinstallation of the OS did not alter the result; the system still comes to 'Error code: DEC400' when attempting AHT.
nope..restart/reboot into my system ..not into recovery mode or internet recovery...
still the same..i gonna reinstall the OS via Recovery Mode later...still can use my macbook ..i just cant enter & do Hardware test..thats all..

Make sure you have an Internet connection and try holding option d at startup.
