Apple Watch snapchat notification image not displaying

Hello! I recently bought the apple watch series 3 WITHOUT cellular data. The only problem I am having is that I deleted snapchat off of my iphone the other day becuase it was not working properly. When I reinstalled everything was working fine. However, when a notification comes to my Apple Watch the little ghost icon image does not appear. Instead, it is a gray square with a circle and lines going through it. I have tried reinstalling the app again, restarting my iphone, even disconneciting and reconnecting my apple watch but nothing seems to bring the image back. The image still comes up with notifications on my iphone, not not through the watch. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be very much appreciated. I have attached a picture for reference. Appears to be a common problem with iOS 11 and how the app snags the icon to display.

I am having the same issue. I have taken it two different apple stores and sent it in and no one could tell me what the problem was. Ended up just figuring out that it is something with the app developers. Hoping it resolves soon.

Hi

Apple advises that the issue of app icons not appearing in notifications on Apple Watch is addressed under iOS 11.1, released today.

watchOS 4.1 has also been released.

Follow the instructions here to update your iPhone and Apple Watch, starting with your iPhone and beginning by making a backup of your iPhone:

I just noticed this started happening today. iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.0.3, Apple Watch original / first edition / whatever, Watch OS 4.0. Almost all notification icons are that same gray pattern icon. Just rebooted both devices and will see if that continues.

Update 10/19/17

Rebooted phone and watch and the only alert this is happening on is Snapchat.

Hi - I just got the iPhone 8 and obviously it has ios11 on it so this is happening to me too. I noticed that within the App Store of the Apple Watch, Snapchat and twitter aren’t appearing. Assuming this has something to do with the unfound image we are seeing. Hopefully the app developers fix soon.
