How do I copy audio from one project to another in Garage Band?

Hi Folks -

I'm starting a podcast project and need to pull a segment of audio from one "project" to another: When you open GarageBand, it asks you to pick a project. I have an audio segment in one project that I need placed on another, but "copy / paste" doesn't seem to work. I can't "drag" the segment to the desk top either. Is there a general clip board or something?

Thanks so much! All help is appreciated!

copy and paste have worked between projects since version 1.

select the region by clicking on it, press ⌘-c (or use the Edit menu)

open the other project, making sure that a track of the same type is selected (Software/Audio/Drummer...)

press ⌘-v

as an alternative, though it's more work, you could export the audio segment to disk and then drag and drop that into the second project
