How do I copy audio from one project to another in Garage Band?

Hi Folks -

I'm starting a podcast project and need to pull a segment of audio from one "project" to another: When you open GarageBand, it asks you to pick a project. I have an audio segment in one project that I need placed on another, but "copy / paste" doesn't seem to work. I can't "drag" the segment to the desk top either. Is there a general clip board or something?

DUH - so simple - thanks for that man - any clue as to how I can reduce the hollow / tinny sound of my initial podcast recording? I now know I need a better microphone but is there anything I can do post- recording?
