Magic Mouse 2 Bluetooth Interference (LAGGING)

I have been experiencing severe lagging from my Magic Mouse 2 for several months now and at times it is so bad I am totally unable to use my iMac. I live in a townhouse and have figured out that my neighbor has a bluetooth device that is causing the issue.

When the neighbors device (amazonbasics210) is not pared is when I experience the issue. It is some sort of wireless speaker; I know this for sure because I can connect to it and blast music that I can hear from my home. I believe it to be one of those portable speakers designed to connect to your phone. When it is pared to one of his devices, my mouse operates as normal. When I pair my computer to his speaker my mouse again operates as normal. It is when his bluetooth speaker is powered on and not paired that I experience the issue. Unfortunately, it seems this is always the case.

I am not sure how to resolve this issue and it has gotten VERY annoying. I pair my computer to it whenever possible and then switch my audio output back to internal speakers. This is the ONLY solution I have found. Every time he uses his speaker and then disconnects from it , I have to go through the above process again. I will also lose connection to it every now and again and have to re-pair with the device.

Anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?

The problem has actually been getting worse over the last few days. He must have moved his speaker further away. Now even when I am connected I am experience really bad lagging; I can also hear through the walls and the audio is really choppy. I really don't know what else to do! I guess my only option is to go out and purchase a wired USB mouse. Apple, PLEASE help me!!!!
