how do i compleetly sign out of google maps?

I want to sign out of google maps on my phone. How do I do that?

I opened the app. Went to setting. Selected use without account but all it still leaves the account signed in. I am about to loan the phone to someone. I do not want them to access any personal information. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it but my account is still there. I went into the phone settings for google and there is nonway to sign out.
