Determining my Bluetooth connection

Hi, all. Using an iPhone SE with iOS 11.0.1

Is there a way to determine what Bluetooth device my phone is paired to?

This has been happening for some time now, on earlier iOS versions too: the Bluetooth icon would be in my status bar, in the "paired" mode (that is, not grayed-out)...but I could not see to WHAT I was paired. This happened often in my home. A visit to the Bluetooth settings would not show me to what I was paired: I have had for some time two devices listed under "My Devices" (my car, my girlfriend's car), and both would show "disconnected." And though I would see the spinning gear next to "other devices," I had never seen anything show up in that list.

That has changed under iOS 11: it APPEARS that there is no "bluetooth on but not paired" indicator in the status bar. It always looks paired now. When I visit the Bluetooth settings, I now see the list of "other bluetooth devices" (none of which I've ever paired to), and still no indication of a connection anywhere.

So the question remains: how do I determine what BT device I'm connected to? And is there now a way to tell at a glance whether I'm paired to anything at all without having to dig around in settings?

In Settings > Bluetooth > My Devices: If there’s nothing listed there, then you do not have any paired devices; if it lists a device and says Not Connected, or Connected, that‘s the status of that device.

Tapping on Bluetooth in Control Center only disconnects the device, doesn’t completely turn off Bluetooth network. To find out which audio device you’re playing to, tap on the signal icon of the Music/Playing widget. Use and customize Control Center on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Rysz,

I don't think I've made my question clear.

I have a disconnect between what my status bar says and what the Bluetooth Settings say.

STATUS BAR says I am paired (bold Bluetooth logo)

BLUETOOTH SETTINGS say I am not paired (no connections listed)

This has been the case in iOS prior to iOS 11 (where the bluetooth logo in the status bar indicates whether you're paired or not). It's unclear whether this is any longer the case in iOS 11.

The control center tap is a good tip! But what if the bluetooth device I'm connected to isn't a speaker?
