Why does my Bluetooth speaker keep disconnecting and reconnecting since installing ios11?

When using my Bluetooth speaker with Spotify on my iPad it keeps disconnecting then reconnecting straight away, then I have to press play to get it started again,this has only started happening since installing iOS 11

Hey Mullahwife,

I can see that your Bluetooth speaker is cutting in and out when playing music via Spotify from your iPad. Also see that this issue began soon after the update to iOS 11. Being able to stream music without interruption is key to having the best experience and I'd like to help with this. Just to be sure, have you checked to see if there are any updates for Spotify in the App Store? Also, do you have this issue playing any other audio from other apps with your Bluetooth Speaker? What happens if you restart your device?

If you can‘t connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Use these steps first

If you want to share files between your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac, try using AirDrop.

To get help connecting Bluetooth accessories to your iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory and iOS device are close to each other.
  2. Check that your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If your accessory uses batteries, see if they need to be replaced.
  3. Restart your Bluetooth accessory.
  4. Make sure that your iOS device is up to date.
  5. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on. If you can’t turn on Bluetooth or you see a spinning gear, restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  6. Unpair the Bluetooth accessory, put it back in discovery mode, then pair and connect it again.

Thanks for the speedy response. I have tried using another app and encounter the same problem. There are no updates due to Spotify and I have tried restarting my device. I'm afraid the problem still persists (and is very frustrating as I literally take my music everywhere!)

Mine does this with just the regular Apple Music app. My bluetooth headphones will just randomly disconnect, reconnect, then I have to hit play for it to start again. My music is also randomly skipping songs even when it's not on bluetooth, just playing right out of the phone. It all started with this newest update.
