What is the best way to track stair climbing for exercise?

I exercise in a stairwell sometimes and was wondering the best option on the Apple Watch to track the exercise? Is “stair stepper” the most accurate choice to pick or? I don’t care about the floors climbed and all that but just want an accurate reading while exercising of calories burned and whatnot.

Hi

For the most accurate results, record your activity using the Workout app and select "Other" as the activity type.

When recording workouts via the Workout app, for the most accurate tracking of results, be sure to choose the activity type that most closely matches your workout. This enables your watch to use the most appropriate sensors and data sources when estimating results, including using tailored calorie calculations for certain activities.

To record workouts that are neither included within nor sufficiently similar to those in the main list - including for stairs - choose "Other" as the activity type.

This credits one minute of Exercise for each full minute of the workout and Active Calories (Move goal) at a rate equivalent to a brisk walk or based on data from the heart rate sensor, whichever is higher. Distance is not recorded under this workout type.

When ending your Other workout, tap the option to "Name Workout" to label the workout from a range of activity types, which include "Stairs".
