I am having trouble with the search feature in Ios 11. I used to be able to put in a partial name for an app and it would appear. Now I have to spell out Safari before I get a suggestion. Contacts that I know are in my phone can not be found in the search. Instead I have to open up contacts and look there. This is so frustrating. How do I go back to the old IOS. The new features in 11 are not great enough to deal with these problems.

The solution is that you need to go to setttings->Siri and search->each specific app->disable search and siri suggestions -> enable show app.
This should bring everything back to the way it was before the sh!tstorm Siri started with its uselessness.
Swipe down and search for your installed apps again.
I had that problem too. I solved it by forcing search to reindex my contacts. Try turning off contacts in iCloud and deleting all the contacts, then resyncing them back to the phone. Please only try this is your contacts are safe in iCloud.
I would have never upgraded either.

This is infuriating. I can’t find Spotlight Search in Settings at all. It’s just not there, under General or anywhere else. I want to enable it, but where is it? Thanks.
