Do you need an iPhone to own an Apple Watch series 3?
I don’t understand if you need an iPhone to own a series 3 Apple Watch. Do you need an iPhone to unlock the watch because I don’t have an iPhone to do so.

Yes, a compatible model of iPhone running the latest version of iOS is required in order to set up and use Apple Watch Series 3:
- Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) requires an iPhone 5s or newer with the latest version of iOS 11.
- Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or newer with the latest version of iOS 11.

In order to use the built-in cellular features on Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) you will also need a carrier service plan for your iPhone that specifically includes support for Apple Watch (including the carrier activating the watch on the plan):
