After iOS11 upgrade, one app not compatible

No icloud backup/restore is all or nothing.

contact the app developer and see what they can do to help.

I have the same problem, only downloaded new IOs11 two days ago. Can’t get in. Contacted developer. Unfortunately the developer stoped developing the app. A bit annoying as all my mileage is on that app. They said connect phone to the Mac, go to iTunes, devices, file sharing.

The only thing I could retrieve was what I emailed to myself in January 2017 :(

Backups don’t contain the actual app itself anyway, just data for the app.

There is nothing you can do really if a developer goes out of business or drops support for their app Or pulls it from the App Store.

If you used that app in iOS 10 you should have seen pop up warnings that it may not be compatible (i.e. unless the developer updated it) with future releases of iOS. Those warnings had been coming up for 32-bit apps for at least the past year or so.

Thanks, that was what I suspected 😠 😢 Really annoying as wish there was some visible warning this could happen before I downloaded the IOS11.

It's possible that the developer of the app allowed for file sharing. Connect your iPhone to your computer running iTunes. Select the phone in iTunes and scroll down to the Sharing. Click on File Sharing the apps that support File Sharing will be listed. Look for the fishing catch log app. If it is there click on the app and look for the data file to the right. If there is data you can Save it to you computer and hopefully use the same procedure to load the data into your replacement app.
