Cannot reply to text messages on iPhone 8 Plus

I found a much easier and faster way to fix the issue when it happens. Just go to the new message icon at the top right of your messaging screen and on the resulting screen tap in the box that requests the name of the person to whom you wish to message. This will bring up the keyboard at the bottom of the screen. Just exit out at this point and when you return to the problem screen you will again have the ability to reply. This only takes a few seconds and is much quicker than restarting. However, the problem which I suspect is a bug in IOS 11.3 should be fixed.

Had the same problem. turned Iphone off and back on and all is okay. Hopefully doesn't keep ocurring.

I am having same problem myself. Restarting phone does fix it, but I have had it happen twice today. So do I need to keep restarting my iPhone 8 Plus?

I’ve been having the same problem on & off since since Easter.. today it’s already happened to me twice! Turning it on & off is a temporary fix! Please correct this issue Apple..

Starting & stopping doesn't help. I have only one text stream that does not provide response capability. Any way to correct one email stream?
