Reboot your phone: On the iPhone 8, press the volume up button quickly and release. Press the volume down button quickly and release. Hold the power button until you see the Apple Logo and your phone will restart.
Thank you. That worked eventually. And there was an update to 11.02 so I did that, too.
Glad it worked for you. Reboot's often solve issues.
I have a screen locked! I cannot re boot it as per all the instructions. I cannot restore it in iTunes as I have to turn off the Find my iPhone Ap (Which I cannot do as desktop frozen. From the view of the desk top there appears to be an Ap which is suspended in updating......I think? I cannot force close it? I have only had the phone for a week why haven't Apple solved this problem? Why is it 'always' the Ap providers fault? Why didn't Apple check all this out 'BEFORE' issuing & selling the iPhone 8 Plus? WHY WHY WHY
Probably because there are millions of iPhone 8 out being used without any issue like you're having. It's a week old? Take to your Apple Store. Make a Genius Bar appointment in advance to avoid having to wait a long time.
Restore is the next option to try. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
What if this doesn't ? What is the next option. I have tried rebooting it several times...
