Austrailian siri uses international date format

Before the recent ios update, siri just said "I'll remind you". Now siri says I'll remind you on October 4, 2017. I like the Australian voice, but it uses the international date format so instead of him saying Oct 4, 2017, he says it's April 10, 2017. (4/10/17 rather than U.S. format 10/4/17) I have my phone set for U.S. language, so why doesn't siri follow the U.S. date format, regardless of the selected voice? Can it be changed? The American voice uses U.S. date format.

I beg to differ. When the Australian or British siri confirms a reminder, it does in fact recite the date in the European format - day, month, year instead of the U.S. format - month, day, year. I do not see any setting to change this. When I change siri to an American voice, the date recited to confirm reminders uses the U.S. date format. It is therefore clear that there is a difference between using the different siri voices. I don't understand why just changing the voice should affect the way the date is announced in reminders.

If I were Australian, why would I be asking the question. Why not see for yourself? Select the Bristish or Austrailian Siri voice and ask it to set a reminder for today. Guaranteed it will say that it’s May 10. Then switch to an America.m Siri and it will tell you the reminder is set for Oct 9. I’ve set my language for US and it doesn’t fix the problem. Thanks for your input.

You can differ all you want. There is no European format either.

Example Germany uses DMY.

Belgium, Lithuania, Hungary & Sweden uses YMD

If you're an Australian, you should go out more and see the world.😉

Date Format can be selected Language & Region

Siri offers English in American, Australian or British. Note country association also means how dates are interpreted.

Up until the recent update, Siri, with a Brit accent, used in the USA, worked properly with reminders. Now, for example, I just asked it to remind me of something at 2:30 today, October 9, and Seri said it added the reminder for the 10th of September 2017. So, it is not working properly as it used to do. Do I have to change back to an American accent for this device to work properly. Really?
