DVD to IPOD???

You need a program called 'Handbrake' to convert the DVD to an mpeg 4 file which you can then drag and drop into iTunes. Your iPod will load it from there.

Um, Tried downloading it but it said I had to identify the file so I went to the identifiying site it told me to go to and then it just told me the information of it which I already know and doesn't even let me download the file. I JUST WANT TO DOWNLOAD THE **** THING AND GET IT OVER WITH AND TRANSFER DVDS TO MY IPOD GOD!!!

Great how do you use stream clip

Once you have the video ripped to your computer you open streamclip open the movie file, choose export to mepeg4 then on the upper right hand part of the screen you select ipod, then press make mp4 and it will do it for you. No need to make any other settings.

hello people, hat's off to those of u who help us dimwits who can't even figure out how to ask a question.... i have mangaged to copy a dvd to ipod using videora and dvd decrypter but it was still 4.5 GB in size and it took forever.is there a program that will do it easily/quicker and reduce the size of the file to about 1.5 GB....please help. thanks

Do a search for streamclip, it works great and will copy it at around 1 gig to 1.5 depending on the size of the original file. mpeg streamclip

I am at the beginning of this same dilemma with a PC. I use Manual Syncing and when I hit Sync Movie a box pops up that says "Are you sure you want to sync movies? All existing content on the iPod will be removed and replaced with movies from your iTunes library." Is this true? Will I lose my music because I loaded a movie?

I converted a DVD movie to .mp4 with Nero Recode. It plays reasonably well with QuickTime, but not on iTunes or my brand new iPod 80GB. What is wrong? Apple says the format should be .mp4 (or .mov).
