Is an Apple Watch series 1 compatible with an iPhone 5
I’ve just bought my daughter an Apple Watch series 1 and just wanted to confirm that it was compatible to an iPhone 5?

IF and only if, the watch is NOT running WatchOS 4. WatchOS 4 requires an iPhone running iOS 11, which requires a 5s or higher. It will not run on an iPhone 5.
