Unlock Iphone 7+ from carrier

I am changing mobile carriers. i have paid BTC mobile provider for my iphone, i have no contract and i paid for the phone outright but the provider has the phone locked. They said they do not know how to unlock the phone as it has been locked by apple at the factory. any suggestions?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.0.2, 128gb

Whoever told you it was locked by Apple doesn't know what they are talking about.

The phone was almost certainly sold with an activation policy that locks it to the provider.


You have no effective way of unlocking the phone yourself.


Review the company's unlocking policy and if you meet the eligibility requirements the company is required to unlock it.


If you do not, it is nor required to do so and Apple will not involve itself in a dispute between a carrier and you.


Should you be unable to resolve it with the carrier, your best option is to sell the phone to someone interested in having service with the carrier.
