How to turn on sounds for notifications.

My work requires that I say updated on current events. I have apps from CNN and FOX News on my iPhone.

When FOX News sends me a notification my iPhone makes a "Notification sound". When CNN sends me a notification my iPhone makes NO sound at all. (so I often miss it.)

Under Settings > Notifications, Both FOX News and CNN, are set the exact same way. I have tried turning notifications on and off and power cycling my iPhone.

Suggestions appreciated.

Then I don't know. Inside notifications on the iPhone Settings, you have the option to turn on sounds. If it is on too, try to delete the app and download it again.

If it doesn't work try to update to iOS 11 to se if it works then.

Hi!

Check if those apps have notification settings you can adjust inside them, from the app, not from the iPhone's settings.

I did. Both the CNN and FOX News app have a "Receive Alerts" switch. They are both turned on and neither one has any kind of an option regarding sound. I had always thought the alert sound was created and controlled by iPhone alone.

I have iOS 11.1.1 Still, no Notification Sound with CNN.
