High Sierra Graphics Problem?

What graphics drivers are you talking about?

Your mac doesn’t need any graphics drivers besides the ones that are part of the OS.

If you have any third party drivers (like CUDA drivers, presumably by NVIDIA) they may be incompatible with the new OS so you’ll either have to update them or simply uninstall them.

There are so many GPU issues with 10.13. Anything remotely tied to video or GPU use is affected.

1. Videos when small are just a jumble of garbage on my Nvidia 750m (MBPro 2013).

2. WebGL contexts go black when I return to them, without a context lost occurring.

3. Random triangles render outside of OpenGL windows.

After this occurs, then random parts of the screen start flashing, double buffer alternates black/image.

If you have in the past installed an NVIDIA driver, it is not compatible with High Sierra.

Try uninstalling and just using the driver provided by the system, at least until NVIDIA puts out an updated version.

I am having issues with almost all adobe products crashing and having video fragments/lines everywhere (As a designer/editor this is a big deal) since upgrading. I have a brand new 13" touch macbook pro so I figured it would be the newest. Is there a way to revert back to regular sierra?

High Sierra has definitely broken video playback and webGL rendering on the browsers like Chrome. Both of these likely use a lot of GPU and IOSurface calls. Nvidia MacBookd seem to be nost affected. 650m and 750m are nearly unusable, with graphic artifacts spilling out of the browser and native NsOpenGLView to the desktop. Switching to Intel part helps to some degree, and 10.13.1 may as well.

I'm so glad I found this thread. Because of the seemingly random nature of the glitches, they're hard to capture or tie to any particular process. I see them when playing video a lot, when using web browsers (including Safari), and other times at random (one happened just now when using Atom text editor). Happens a few times a day. Sometimes it will just be a small portion of the screen (e.g. a video window, or part of the video window), other times a large fraction of it, always only for a split second. I'm running 10.13.2 on a 2017 rMBP 15" with touch bar.

I'm hoping they fix this in 10.13.3...

Hi there, I have the same issues. The webpages get scrambled, youtube videos show glitches, etc.

Have you found a solution?

I don't have any additional drivers installed. Only the ones that come with High Sierra.

I have a similar issue, I can see my desktop wallpaper behind YouTube videos and behind Safari, mostly in stripes... but this is intermittent

Apple still has not fixed this issue. It's still happening on 10.13.2
