Preordering iPhone X in Japan

Just for clarity:

To order from the Japanese online store, you will require a Japanese payment method, with a Japanese billing address. Apple Online stores are country specific, and will only accept payment methods from the country they are for.

Additionally, ship to store, may not be available, or may not be available on the days you may there.

Warranty for iPhones as mentioned is only valid in the country of purchase:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Also note that Japanese iPhones may have differences to iPhones for other regions such as the inability to turn off the Camera shutter sound among others.

The other thing is: The Japan Apple Store website will not accept a foreign (non Japanese credit card). You must also have a physical address in Japan.

You will not get any warranty service in Poland on a Japanese phone. Plus, I believe the Japanese phones are not entirely compatible with EU bands.

Order the iPhone on the Polish Apple Store and have delivery to your house while you are travelling.

You want to preorder the phone while you are IN Japan on the Polish online store? You can do that, but be aware that your card might be declined as you are logging in from a country outside and it might be flagged as a suspicious transaction.

You will be charged once the phone actually ships, not before. As far as picking up, that option might not be available at the outset, but you would have to ask Apple.

Going from previous iPhones, and due to the fact that all the buzz of the X is very high, and because (reported) manufacturing constraints, hoping that you will get an iPhone in a store 2 weeks after release is a long shot.

You are better off trying to order it online in Poland for delivery in Poland. There is no reason to order it in Japan (other that you are going to be there). This might be (if you get a phone) an expensive proposition in the end.

Believe what you will. The iPhone warranty (unlike other Apple products) is not a worldwide warranty. Never has been.

The basic rule is: buy an iPhone in the country you intend to use it in.

In the end, it's your money.

You have been given enough reasons as to why it is not a good idea. In the end, it is your decision. Factor in a trip to Japan should you need to exercise your warranty.
