I want to upgrade software on a Mac mini from 10.8.5 to 10.10 or higher but software updates say there are no updates available.

I am running a Mac mini and the software running is 10.8.5. I need to upgrade to 10.10.0 or higher. When I check for software updates it says there are non available. How can I upgrade the software?

Mac mini, I don't see 10.8.5 listed in OS

Upgrades can be found in the App Store, not in software updates. But 10.10 is not available anymore. Your only option is High Sierra or El Capitan (only of your Mac Mini cannot run High Sierra):
