I am trying to make my phone number not show up when I call another person but the way it shows on most forums is no longer available in the settings. I have verizon and tried dialing *67 and that also did not work.

Not all carriers allow the user to make that change on the phone. It is only available to the phone user if the carrier allows it. To my knowledge that is something that Verizon does not allow to be handled at the phone level. You will have to call Verizon and talk to them about blocking your Caller ID.
