HDR won't set up with Sony XBR49X900e

Howdy,

We have a Sony XBR49X900E 4K HDR TV and just got a new Apple TV 4K. While it the Apple TV 4K does set up for 4K it won't detect HDR even if I set that HDMI port to HDR10 instead of Auto. Under Auto it just says it can't do it and goes back to plain 4K but under the HDR10 setting for the HDMI port the screen goes black and then comes back as there is a message that there is no signal coming from the TV.

Is there anything I can do to get this working?

Good Luck,

Make sure you are using the latest generation HDMI 2.0a cables. Specifically, they should be "Premium Certified" to work with 4K/HDR reliably. Otherwise, you have all sorts of issues with HDMI signal trying to pass 4k/HDR data through an older cable. Belkin one from Apple store should work, or something like Monoprice has great cheaper HDMI cables that are Premium Certified. Here is the link to the Monoprice HDMI cables. I use them on ATV4K with no issues. Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable, HDR, 3ft Black - Monoprice.com
