Yes, with current Apple policy, he's stucked with iOS11.x.

However, let's admit Apple SHOULD support downgrades in such cases as the apocalyptic iOS 11 upgrade...

On my side, I upgraded it, my full battery was drained in 2-3 hours... Still no solution, no fix, no improvement on that issue.

Lots of users complain about this on all forums, and Apple knows it for sure but did not made it official (probably to avoid bad marketing effect).

Only 'tips' can be found all over the web:

- use low battery mode

- decrease luminosity

- wait for file indexing to be done (1 week after, still no improvement..)

Soon, we will read advices such:

- don't use your phone

- enjoy partying with friend instead as texting them

- buy external battery

So... my point is:

I don't care Apple to admit or not their bugs (ok I would prefer they do, but it's not 'that' important).

What I ask is: they know it, so at least they should allow downgrading until issue is definitely fixed. No matter how long it takes, and how it changes their upgrades objectives...

I personally had time to downgrade before they stopped to sign 10.3.3. My battery is backed to normal thanks to this. Why other users, suffering from same issue, would not be able to do this ?

Officially, it's to limit security issues, etc. (yeaaah my phone is secured, but works 3 hours only...)

The truth is: it looks like scheduled obsolescence. Your phone 'could' work during numerous years, but thanks to current policy, in 3 years, you will have a brick.

Did not find that one in agreements but I believe you...

However, Article 1.11:

If you provide any ideas, suggestions, or recommendations on this site regarding Apple’s products, technologies or services (“Feedback”), Apple may use such Feedback and incorporate it in Apple products, technologies, and services without paying royalties and without any other obligations or restrictions

.

Isn't it exactly what I did ?

Thanks for showing such compassion for common users ;)

No. What you're doing falls under section 2.1.2.

Please, Apple should update soon or give a downgrade for their factory device version. I mean, if you bought ine iPhone 6, should be possible to restore to factory version (8 for example)..

With a thought like that, why don't they allow downgrading to the first iOS, and then we could have a home screen that looks like the very first iPhone, including all of the security vulnerabilities that have been discovered ever since. I would rather have the enhancements I have now, including security patches.

If you have problems with your individual device, you need to troubleshoot them. Do you truly believe that if you were given the opportunity to downgrade to iOS 8, that it was fix your battery?

I agree downgrading to factory version may not be the solution (even if it would allow some phones to get back their initial speed ;)

But downgrading to last stable version should be allowed (10.x in that case).

Look:

- It is not individual problem to troubleshoot : many users complain about same thing and for now, there is no solution on ios11.x

- There are even big articles on serious websites telling ios11 is the most buggy update Apple ever made... Well ok that's their point of view, but still, it seems that update is annoying lots of ppls...

- Let's be honest again: what would you prefer for your own iPhone ? Some few vulnerabilities that 'may' be used someday, or battery problem, that occurs everyday ?

- At last, you seem to doubt that downgrading could solve anything about battery (do you really think it's individual hardware problem, with so many users complaining about same thing ?)

So just to clarify things again: in my own case, I was lucky to be able to downgrade to 10.3.3. And my battery went back to life ! No joke ! From 3 hours autonomy in ios11, I now have about 15-20hours (i use my phone quite a lot).

So... yes, I know about Apple's policy, I don't want to debate about it, I'm sure they have their reasons, but all I ask here is to try to understand people who have problems and take them seriously.

If it was your own phone having such problem, you would probably be raging on it and on all ppls telling "you have no choice, do as is".

The truth is: yes, we have no choice. But can't we ask some more compassion and consideration ?

We just want to feel Apple does care about that issue, and does its best to fix it.

While it's not, people have their 3-4 hours battery issues and live with it:/ So yes, downgrade should definitely be allowed in such special cases...

see now the thing is, the more you upgrade your device the more troublesome it gets..i'm currently on iOS 11.3 on my 6s.but no wonder how are the upgrades are helping my phone. constant restarts, battery depletion, performance issues, and some more. now obviously i would want to downgrade .but apple seems to unsigned all the 10.xx versions and the only available one is the 11.2.5 which was not worthy either. Anything you try to do all you get it unworthy upgrades only leading to dislike my idevice.

Apple stopped signing 10.3.3 ipsw - how do I downgrade 11.0.1 to 10.3.3 on iPhone 6?
