PDFs are very blurry in Preview.app on High Sierra

MacBook Pro Mid-2014, just upgraded to High Sierra via AppStore. PDFs are very blurry when displayed in Preview.app, especially on the low dpi(regular 1080p) external display. I've checked preference of preview, tried every options and didn't help.

I just wanted to thank you for the comparison and for pointing out that Chrome supports pdf natively.

Anyone as frustrated as I was should seriously consider using Chrome until Apple can fix the issue.

How to use Chrome as default:

  1. Install Google Chrome (no need to make it your default browser unless you want to).
  2. Selecting a pdf file in finder
  3. Press cmd-I (or right click & select Get Info)
  4. In the box that opens, change the "Open with:" setting to use "Google Chrome"
  5. Click on Change All (this will cause every pdf file to open in Chrome.

Hopefully Apple will fix the rendering quickly. Until now, preview has been a really nice built-in feature to macOS.
