The installed version of FUSE is too old for the operating system

I upgraded to macOS High Sierra the other day and I didn’t have any issues at all with the upgrade. When I try and update the OS now it downloads without any issues and then it looks like it applies the update but on restart I get the error which states: “The installed version of FUSE is too old for the operating system. Please upgrade your FUSE installation to one that is compatible with the currently runing version of macOS.

My question is how do I go about updating my FUSE version? Why am I getting this error?

Thanks so much.

You can download the current version of FUSE from this site: https://osxfuse.github.io

Why you are getting that error is a longer story - really long and ridiculously complicated. In short, either you or some software you use has installed FUSE. But your old version of FUSE isn't compatible with High Sierra. If you aren't the one that installed FUSE, you should probably find out who did. There is no guarantee that it will work with the new version FUSE.
