Security settings in Mail for AOL account

How do I check and/or change the security settings in Mail for my AOL account? I received a message from AOL stating, "that your current third party email application (Mail) is not using the latest, secure mail connection settings." I checked and it's not SPAM.

These are the settings I need to have, but I can't see how to check and modify them. I'm pretty sure the servers are correct but I can't see anything about SSL.

Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.aol.com

Make sure SSL encryption is enabled for the incoming and outgoing mail server.

IMAP - 993 - SSL

SMTP - 465 - SSL
SMTP - 587 - SSL / TLS

Additionally I don't know if they're referring to my laptop or my iPhone or both.

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

You need to ask AOL what they mean

On your Mac in the Mail Application -- mail menu ==> preferences ==> accounts ==> server settings and click advanced IMAP settings for the available IMAP setting

Further down in the page is how to add an account in Apple Mail. It may be easier too delete your accounts and then add them back to get the new settings.
