I want to add a third party plug in to Garageband. I just need to know how to add it, so I can use it to add effects to the music......Thanks!

Once you install your third-party Plugin, has to be an AU format (Audio Unit), it will be available in GarageBand.

  • Select the Track you want to add the Plugin
  • Open the Smart Control Window (Key Command B)
  • On the left (the Smart Controls Inspector) there is a Plug-ins section with a disclosure triangle.
  • CLick on the Button to open the Plugin Menu
  • At the bottom is a menu item "Audio Units" that opens a submenu with a list of all the manufacturers of your installed Plugin. Their submenu lists their Plugins.

Hope that helps
