How do I connect plug ins on Garageband?

Question

How do I connect plug ins on Garageband?

I want to add a third party plug in to Garageband. I just need to know how to add it, so I can use it to add effects to the music......Thanks!

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.5)

Once you install your third-party Plugin, has to be an AU format (Audio Unit), it will be available in GarageBand.

Select the Track you want to add the Plugin
Open the Smart Control Window (Key Command B)
On the left (the Smart Controls Inspector) there is a Plug-ins section with a disclosure triangle.
CLick on the Button to open the Plugin Menu
At the bottom is a menu item "Audio Units" that opens a submenu with a list of all the manufacturers of your installed Plugin. Their submenu lists their Plugins.

I think you are referring to the specification of 32bit Plugin or 64bit Plugin. GarageBand and Logic Pro X now only support 64bit Plugins.

(There are some workaround to make 32bit Plugin work, but I wouldn't recommend dealing with that unless you really really need a specific 32bit Plugin.

Thanks.....made it very simple! I have one question....Does the number of "bits" have too be a certain amount for a third pary effect plug in? What does Garageband require?
