Numbers Insert Stock Quotes Function Currency format infects my spreadsheet
I am using the insert stock quote function and its currency format has infected my spreadsheet which link to that cell. Any fix for this?

By "infect" do you mean the formats of other cells are affected by the Currency format? If so, have a look at the workarounds in this user tip by Ian (Yellowbox). I think using the VALUE() function to convert from Currency to "just a number" will be the solution for you in this case.

Yes, that's a known issue in the latest version (4.3). VALUE() should help.
And if you can be sure to give feedback to Apple at Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in your menu.

Yes, by "infected" I mean that any cell linked to the imported stock price, which uses the currency format, will change its format to currency and I can not change it to any other format. It could be linked to 100 other cells in multiple sheets and columns. In my view this is clearly a bug in the import stock price function which carries forward this format. It has changed percentages to currency. Thanks, I'll take a look at value().
Hi,
I have a similar issue but It doesn't involve stock prices. I hadn't noticed it until recently so this may be a new bug.
The sum of a column returns ($ Total Gross). In my formula I divide that by a number (Goal) and set the cell to return (% of Goal Met) but it returns currency.
I tried using (Value (Total Gross / Goal)) to return (% of goal met) but it still returns the right number but the wrong format.. In this case the cell should return 95% but it returns $0.95 and it won't let me change the format.
Then I take (% Days of the Year) and divide it by (% of Goal Met ) to return the (% of Goal to Date) which tells me if I am currently ahead or behind where I should be to reach my goal.
Again, I get the right number but the wrong format. So instead of 113% it returns $1.13.
If I eliminate the formula for (% Goal Met) and just type in 95%, (% of Goal to Date) it will return %.
So, it seems if any cell in a formula is currency the end result will only return currency.
How is one to determine the percent difference between two dollar amounts if Numbers won't return percent and only returns currency?
Any ideas? Thanks
