iPhone 7 Plus top speaker not working

I have a rose gold 128 gb iPhone 7 Plus and the top speaker just stopped working. No water got into it. I just turned on some music and noticed that it wasn’t working. I covered the bottom speaker with my finger and put my ear to the top speaker and noticed that it was barely working. It’s very scratchy and noticeable when I’m playing music without earbuds. I’ve tried shutting off and restarting my phone and I’ve done the little shaking thing to try to get rid of water. The ringer rocker is turned to on, and I do not have Bluetooth turned on. I called Apple support and they suggested to reset the phone to factory settings. The phone is still under it’s one year warranty but I’m not sure it’s covered. I updated to iOS 11.0.2 as it has described a situation similar to mine, but with the iPhone 8.

If it's not physically damaged, including liquid damage, and it's under warranty, then it's covered.

When you make a regular phone call, can you hear the other party when you hold it to your ear? If so, you may just need to check the balance for audio in settings.

If there is an Apple Store within a reasonable distance of you, I'd recommend making an appointment at the genius bar and taking it there for replacement. Carriers may be able to replace them under warranty, and in some countries, the carriers are the only option for service.

I just checked the audio balence but the top speaker is definitely broken. Do carriers replace the phone/part or do I have to take it to the Apple store?
