AppleCare for my MBP 15'

Hello,

I purchased an MacBook Pro 15' 2016 last November, when they were first released. I was wondering how do I go about purchasing AppleCare? I see that AppleCare+ can only be purchased within 60 days for those in the US (where I'm located), which is kinda crappy since I didn't know there was a deadline. This is only my second MBP, the first one I purchased back in 2011, the limit (understandable) was 1 year.

Is it possible to purchase AppleCare after 60 days?

November 19, 2017 is my estimated expiration for my Apple’s Limited Warranty.

Buying Applecare for a computer is not the same thing as buying it for an iDevice. 60 days is the limit; the regular (old and previous version) of Applecare could be purchased within one year of purchase; however, Apple has discontinued the regular Applecare for Macs several months ago and introduced the Applecare + which includes screen damage, etc. That can only be purchased within 60 days and must be purchased at an Apple store or authorized reseller.

So, no matter how often you hope that the answer will change - 60 days is it. If you do not trust the answers here, go to an Apple store and ask.

"Buying Applecare for a computer is not the same thing as buying it for an iDevice." Never said it was. I simply tried Kaostheory7 suggestion to see if I could buy AppleCare (non-plus) from the Apple store app on my iPhone.

And I understand that Apple discontinued the regular AppleCare for MacBooks several months ago, and introduced AppleCare+ which can only be purchased within 60 days, hence why I'm asking if it's possible to get the 'original' AppleCare still, because it was a real dick move by Apple to suddenly make this change after years.

I actually purchased AppleCare the other day for my MBP. You have to go through a page where you enter your serial number before you can proceed with the purchase: https://checkcoverage.apple.com

This should then guide you through the necessary steps to complete your purchase.

Pricey here in Australia! $429!

Edit: Just to add my MacBook Pro was purchased over 60 days ago (Nov 2016)

Nice, unfortunately for me, I'm in the US, and outside the US, it's like it used to be as far as having a year to purchase AppleCare (non-Plus):

"If you're outside of the United States and Japan and your Mac is eligible, you can buy an AppleCare Protection Plan to extend coverage for three years from the original purchase date of your Mac. You can buy an AppleCare Protection Plan within one year of the purchase of your Mac."

For the US it says:

"If you're in the United States or Japan, and your Mac is eligible, you can buy AppleCare+ to extend your coverage for three years from the original purchase of your Mac. AppleCare+ also adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a fee plus applicable tax. You can buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of the purchase of your Mac (30 days in Japan). Find out if your Mac is eligible for AppleCare+. If you enter the serial number, and your Mac is eligible, the option to buy AppleCare+ online is listed under your device."

Which of course, mine isn't eligible for AppleCare+ (since I purchased it Nov 2016), but it doesn't say anything about the original AppleCare (non-plus).

In the US, the only product available now is the Applecare + which has to be purchased within 60 days. This product is only available in the US; the remainder of the world can still purchase the regular Applecare within one year.

It is helpful to check all the facts before posting.

Not if you're in the US - the only product available from Apple in the US is the new Applecare +. You may be able to find the old Applecare if some authorized reseller still has inventory.

I just checked my preferred Applecare online seller for you and they do not have any inventory left (I purchased the Applecare there for my MBP early this year). I'd suggest you do an online search - maybe you can find one (but it must be at an authorized reseller, not something like ebay).
